   Website Design Planning

Many companies spend thousands of dollars on building their site often with an emphasis on flash graphics, slick pull down menus that list all site choices on the home page and that turn colors, chime, or (literally) include other bells and whistles.

Or opposite, emphasize the use of form input pages, databases, or provide informational content with no regard for ease of use by a potential customer.

Although more people have high-speed internet, there are still millions of people with dial-up connections with small monitors and often an overloaded site just takes too long to download for these types of surfers - and they move on.

Google is so heavily used because it's one of the fastest, easiest to navigate to a huge number of choices along with relevant search ads, always super fast, customizable, etc. (and did I mention it's faster than just about any site!)

It's all too common that web design firms will finish the site, submit the site with search engines and declare the job complete. However, for a website to be successful, this is only the beginning.

Your site must stay fresh, should be consistent yet still have updated images, graphics, news, etc. Traffic building techniques must also be implemented and managed in order to successfully drive traffic and interest to the site.

Finally, the site must be easy to use and easy to look at. Basic design and layout is another often overlooked component of the site. Hard to navigate sites with missing contact information do not serve your visitors or your investment well. Pages loaded with animated graphics, scrolling text, music, and other features used to generate attention usually do just the opposite - annoy visitors.

Yet there are many sites, some for Fortune 500 companies even, that have basic errors or problems that alienate visitors. Having an attractive and successful web site doesn't always mean the flashiest, newest web technology available.

We offer services in web planning and layout, site and identity design, building, and maintaining fast loading web sites. Give us a call at (949) 458-8468 for more information.
